How to get to Pisa
By Flight
Pisa International Airport “Galileo Galilei” offers a wide range of growing flight connections to Europe, America, and Asia. It is the preferred hub in Tuscany for low-cost airlines, as well as for major airlines. The airport is close to the city center and can be quickly reached by bus (Autolinee Toscane, www.at-bus.it), shuttle train (Pisa Mover, pisa-mover.com) or taxi (taxi service: phone number +39 050 541600). www.pisa-airport.com
Florence has its own small airport, Airport of Florence-Peretola, which only a small number of airlines fly into from other European destinations. From Peretola, it’s an easy taxi ride into the historic centre for a set price (plus luggage supplement) one-way. Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.com) has regular connections to get you to Pisa quickly.
Line T2 connects the center of Florence to Peretola Airport in just 20 minutes. The “Peretola Aeroporto” station is only a 2-minute walk from airport arrivals and departures. For any further information click here
By Train
Pisa Centrale train station offers frequent connections to Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, and other Tuscan destinations, as well as major cities in Italy and Europe. A train journey to Rome takes about 3 hours. For more information, visit the official
Trenitalia website: www.trenitalia.com
or visit the official Italo Website: www.italotreno.com
By Car
The conference venue is accessible by car and is located outside the limited traffic zone (ZTL), which is in effect 24 hours a day in Pisa. Parking is available for a fee.
By Urban Bus
The urban bus service is operated by AT (Autolinee Toscane, www.at-bus.it). Given the size of the city, getting around on foot or by bike is very convenient and widely practiced. Pisa, for instance, participates in the RideMovi bike-sharing network and BITMobility for scooters.
